DOING IMPERSONATIONS; is a very controversial activity. Impersonating a famous personality as an entertainment for others can be highly entertaining. Impersonating someone with the intention of deceiving, is illegal.
Age
There is no age restriction, as to impersonation. Children (babies) learn by copying the adults around them, and so become in the sense of the word, impersonators. Children have no inhibitions and so offer a true impersonation.
Ability
To be a successful impersonator, not only must you be able to impersonate in a recognisable fashion, but be able to incorporate the impression into an original and entertaining routine.
Description
Impersonation can take several forms; Impersonating a regional accent with the purpose of enhancing the telling of a joke, or acting a part in a play. Impersonating a specific well known personality, both their voice and their physical manorisms. This can be done as a tribute, getting as close to reality as possible.
Potential
A successful impersonator will find an enthusiastic audience when ever invited to a social gathering. This can lead to engagements at local pubs, clubs and talent shows, which in tern could lead to that elusive big media break.
