Description
Wheelchair Basketball is a highly exciting and charged game, the game is regulated by the level of disabilities of the players on a scale of 1.0 to 4.5, a player with severe lower body paralysis would be classed as a 1.0 while if integrating with able bodied athletes who would be actually classed as a 5. Fundamentally the rules are the same as regular basketball, played on a regular court, though some rules have been modified to integrate the wheelchair into play.
Dedication
Players can play just for fun and sometimes integrate with regular athletes joining in with the game, though these players are not allowed to actually compete internationally with the disabled players. A specially designed wheelchair is also required to play the game giving it better aerodynamics and move-ability so if thinking of investing in this equipment it is a good idea to make sure you are very dedicated, players meet and practice at least once a week.
Potential
Potential to have lots of fun and integrate into a world class sport playing locally, nationally and internationally for trophies, so there you have the potential to travel and meet new friends all over the world.
