Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which single competitors or teams, artistically manipulate accessories such as a Ball, Clubs, Hoops, Ribbon, or Rope. Rhythmic gymnastics combines elements of ballet, gymnastics and theatrical dance.

Popularity
Rhythmic gymnastics was largely a sport for women and girls, but as popularity has increased, a growing number of men participate.

A sport practised worldwide, indoors in gymnasiums and sports halls.

Age
Competitors are split between Juniors, under sixteen years and Seniors 16 and over. Gymnasts typically start training at a very young age and those at their peak are typically in their late teens or early twenties.
