Paraskiing is an extreme recreational activity involving skiing and a para-glider. The paraskiier being towed along by the wind in the paraglider(kite or sail like effect).
Popularity
Although perfectly possible paraskiing is not an activity pursued as an individual, it is normally undertaken by groups of like minded enthusiasts, all of whom would be competent skiiers.
Location
To paraglide wide open areas of snow covered countryside are necessary that are not heavily populated by other snow users. Not an activity that can pursued within the UK.
Age
There is no lower age restriction on tandem paraskiing (commonsense must prevail), however a person must be sixteen years of age to fly solo. There is no upper age limit, although because of the phisical demands this a younger persons activity.
Ability
To attempt this activity you must be a competent skier and parascender or para-glider.
Description
A large expanse of snow-covered open undulating countryside, and a steady wind and paraskiing potentially becomes a very fast and exhilarating sport, as paraskiing combines the wind power (like sailing and ice or land yachting) and the speed developed from the snow (like skiing). A winter sport unlike any other if its real speed and excitement you are seeking. Experienced paraskiiers spend much of there time in the air as the paraglider assists their jumps.
Potential
The potential of making a parachute jump, ( apart from the obvious of landing safely). Is in realising a lifetime challenge or dream, or catching the bug and progressing to free fall or paragliding.

Cost
The cost of Paraskiing is on a par with many other winter sports, however due to the remoteness of the locations suitable for paraskiing make travel and accommodation the biggest financial consideration.
