Banger racing vehicles are normally scrap automobiles, they can be conducted with almost any powered wheeled vehicle with bizarre versions of the sport using automobiles towing caravans or trailers happens as a special event at many tracks.
A sport which is usually family and friends making up the spectators, old jags are the popular car to use at present.
Usually performed on dirt in a field or in most cases at a stock car track, which are scattered throughout the UK
Banger racing or endured racing is a dirt track racing type of motorsport event popularised in Europe and especially Great Britain. in which drivers of old vehicles race against one another around a race track and the race is won in terms of the first car to the chequered flag, all the while (in Europe primarily) attempting to deliberately wreck the opposing vehicles. The race tracks are usually oval but on occasion are constructed in a figure eight design.
The only dedication required for this sport is to be an outright nutter who enjoys driving half an escort or maestro around a track whilst trying to stop the competition with every rule unimaginable in normal racing. It is a high adrenalin rushing event with little or no thought other than to keep going and hope you get to the end and that the car holds up.
This sport is basically for personal satisfaction and the adrenalin rush. Sometimes performed at Country shows.
I suppose the only closely related activity with this sport is how many different ways you can wreck a car, and gain a good knowledge of wreckers.
Cost for this is basically Nil apart from transportation costs and racing fees.
