Jet skis, or as more correctly known Personal Watercraft, are recreational watercraft on which the rider sits or stands "on", rather than inside of, as in a boat. Jet skis offer an exhilarating, fast, highly maneuverable waterborne experiance.
Popularity
Jet skis are widely used for recreation, because of their relatively low cost and the freedom they afford to owners. There are also races and tests of maneuverability that can be entered.
Location
Because of the ease of transporting and launching, jet skis can be used on any permissible water.
Many areas of water do not allow jet skiing, due to the dangers posed to other water users (bathers) or potential damage to the environment.
Ability
Modern Personal Watercraft include a lanyard attached to a dead man's switch, to turn off the vessel if the operator falls off.
Description
Originolaly designed as a single rider stand-up craft, most now acommidate two three or even four sitting down riders.
