Historical military re-enactments can either be reconstructions of an actual battle or a representation of the conditions, dress and equipment of a typical battle of the chosen time.
Popularity
Military reenactments have become the most popular of all of the reenactments over recent years, with tens of thousands of active regular participants in the UK alone.
Location
Battles can be created on any area considered large enough for the intended battle. Old castles and Stately homes that are open to the public being particularly popular.
Age
Military re-enactments do sometimes have minimum age restrictions depending on the individual battle requirements. Opportunities are limited for young children and the activity does tend to be male orientated, compared to other forms of re-enactment
Potential
The potential is to have lots of fun, learn a new interest and meet new friends, and important to many escape the pressures of the modern day rat race. Reenactment groups are often called upon to become extras in period film and television dramas.
