Hospital Radio is a radio station working throughout the hospital, run by volunteers, playing music, news and dedications, usually there is a headset beside the bed for the patient to use, this is sometimes good company for patients.

Highly popular for both presenters and patients and very rewarding, hospital radio as is important and as exciting as the well known radio stations.

Available at hospitals throughout the UK and Ireland, the studio is usually found within the hospital grounds.

Description
Hospital radio was first inventend in 1926 it appeared first in hospital in the York county, the service was first applied in England, Ireland, Canada and other places it was first introduced by Thomas Hanstock to entertain hospital patients, hence the name 'Hospital Radio'. The service is usually run on a closed loop wires, therefore can only be picked up in the respective hospital, some stations only broadcast a few hours a day while others use computers for a 24 hour service.
