Usually the minimum age is 16, though through the years Brownies, Cubs, Guides and Scouts have been known to offer their services, there is no upper age limit.

A kind compassionate and understanding nature are essential, a willingness to help and care. With some agencies it will be required that a formal police check is carried out.

Description
There are many organisations throughout the UK and the world needing the support and care of regular everyday individuals to help out, this can involve jobs such as shopping, transportation, general care; household and personal or accompanying people on trips, doctors appointments, this is a very rewarding interest, bringing light and happiness into many peoples lives, people needing help and care range from young to the elderly, people with disabilities, illness or social/family problems.

Dedication
You will really need to be 100% dedicated for this type of work, bringing care and happiness into peoples lives is not an activity to take lightly, people being helped sometimes come to rely on and look forward to the time with their carer.

Potential
The potential to brighten up someones life is reward enough, through certain agencies you may find regular employment, if you enjoy so much what you are doing there are often further education such as NVQ's, Nursing Courses, leading to employment.
