There is no maximum age, people of all ages are welcome, although children should be at least 8 years old, and should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Ability
Archery is one of the few sports that can be enjoyed by almost everyone, whether they be able-bodied, or have a disability. It is possibly the only sport where beginners can compete next to an Olympic archer! Archery provides something for everyone.
Description
There are quite a number of different target archery rounds, but generally, target archery consists of archers shooting a fixed number of arrows at a specified distance. The target is circular with ten concentric rings. The inner of which is gold scoring ten points, the outer ring is white, scoring one. After an end of arrows, usually three or six, all arrows are scored. At the end of the day, the person with the highest score wins!
Dedication
Archery is one of the few sports where an individual can go from being an absolute beginner to shooting at the highest levels within a fairly short space of time. Of course, this does not happen without dedication, commitment and some good instruction.
Potential
Target archery is the only form of archery competed in the Olympic games. British archers have won 9 medals at the last three Olympic Games.
