Cup-and-ball is a traditional children's game played throughout the world. There are many variations, commonly a small ball is attached by a length of string to a cup. The game object being to swing the ball, catching it in the cup.
Cup and Ball is played in many countries under a variety of names. In Spain it is called Boliche, Balero / Emboque / Perinola / Capirucho in South America and in France as Bilboquet.

Cup and ball is very simular to the Japanese game of Kendama. In Kendama the hand piece has three cups and a spike on which to catch the ball.
