Ice Swimming is the extreme sport of open swimming in icy water. Events must be held in waters of 5C or less, to be legitimised by the International Ice Swimming Association (IISA).
Age
Ice Swimming is dangerous to people who are not used to swimming in very cold water, and should be totally avoided by individuals who have heart or respiratory diseases, obesity, high blood pressure or arrhythmia, as well as children and the elderly.
