Inter Hunt Team relay is an equestrian knockout competition, competed in an arena. Raced by two teams of four on side by side identical courses. Team members race in relay. The event involves jumping and manoeuvring obstacles.

Inter Hunt Team relays are normally competed at horse or agricultural shows.
Age
Although this is an activity than can be participated in by a wide age group. To represent the hunting field as accurately as possible, senior teams often have to consist of a mixture of ages. e.g.
one member over 40yrs.
one member under 25yrs.
Description
An Inter Hunt Team Relay competition is designed to replicate in a competitive arena event, the riding skills of the hunting field.
* A team consists of four riders and four horses.
* Teams draw for the order in which they will compete.
* Two teams at a time compete over separate identical courses.
*Team members must hand a hunting whip on to the next competing member of their team, if the whip is dropped. The handing on member must dismount and pick the whip up.
Dedication
Competition peculiarities of an Inter Hunt Team Relay are;
* If a team member fails to compete the course through retirement or a horse having three refusals, is eliminated. The following member must complete the round from the point of retirement, and then continue to jump their own round.
* Time penalties of five seconds are added for each fence knocked down.
