"Statues" is a children's game of stealth which can be played by a group of any number of people. The object of the game is for a "Statue" to tag a nominee (normally an adult play leader), thereby becoming that nominee and restarting the game.

Popularity
A long time established entertainment, that is popularly played anywhere there is a group of children to be entertained. Statues is easily adapted to any group size or venue.
This is a fun game especially when played by a mixed age group.

Location
Home / school / park / playground / beach.

Age
Statues needs at least one adult supervisor, (depending on the number of playing statues). This is a game that can be played by groups, from the age of four years old, upwards.

Description
The Nominee turns their back to the field, and on the word "go" the "Statues" attempt to race across and tag the nominee.
Whenever the nominee turns around, the Statues must freeze in position and hold that position for as long as the nominee looks at them. If a Statue is caught moving, they are sent back to the starting line to begin again (or thrown out of that round, whichever way is preferred).
The winner is the first to tag the nominee. The winner will often become the new nominee.

Dedication
In some versions the nominee can even walk around the Statues, examining them. However, the nominee needs to be careful - whenever their back is turned to the statues, The statues are free to move.
