A Pooh-stick race quite simply involves dropping a stick into a river or culvert normally from a bridge, and seeing how long it takes to get to the other side or finishing line.
Location
This activity is played anywhere there is a mixture of moving water and children, There is an annual world championships held in England each Spring. Entrants come from across the world, the event is even open to adults.

children have raced sticks in any moving water since time immoral, the name pooh-stick developed from the Winnie the Pooh books by A.A.Milne. In which Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin raced sticks under a bridge. A troughly English actitiy, that is played world wide.
