Description
There are no complicated rules to wanging a wellie, Just propel that boot from a marked line, as far as you can, by what ever means you can. In local competitions it is normal that any old boot of any color or size may be thrown, but to be a recognised record attempt, a size eight Dunlop challenger wellington must be used.
Dedication
There is no set amount of training necessary in wellie wanging, and as most competitions are held on an annual basis, most competitors do not train at all, being spectators coerced into competing on the day. Males have achieved distances of over 56 meters with females, understandingly, being the weaker sex distances of over 40 meters. If there is no local competion to you, organise one.
Potential
The ultimate potential and claim to fame of a serious wellie wanger is for your throw to be featured in the Guinness book of Records.
