Age

Ability
A potential Sky surfer must first be fully competent at both sky diving and paragliding. Sky Surfing is a distinct skill requiring considerable practise.
Description
Sky-surfing is a type of skydiving in which the skydiver wears a board attached to their feet and performs surfing-style aerobatics during freefall. Marks are awarded for compulsory and free rounds. Loops, barrel rolls, helicopter spins, upside-down manoeuvres are just the start. New moves are being invented all the time, such as ‘body roll triple’, ‘avalanche’, ‘nose-carve’, ‘invisible man’ and ‘Playstation'.
Dedication
Sky-surfing is a distinct skill requiring considerable practise. The simplest sky-surfing technique is to stand upright on the board during freefall, and tilt the nose of the board down to generate forward movement. However even this basic technique is a balancing act which experienced skydivers find tricky to learn. The extra drag of the board tends to upset the balance and make the skydiver flip over.
